In an endeavor to placate farmers agitating towards 3 farm-related legislations, the Centre has decided to progress paddy procurement in the 2020-21 Kharif advertising period (KMS) in Punjab and Haryana.

In an formal assertion issued here on Saturday, the Ministry of Purchaser Affairs, Food stuff and General public Distribution said it would start procurement of paddy in the two north Indian States from Saturday, in advance of October one, the day established for commencing procurement across the state if not.
